Weekly Roundup 9.6

Welcome to September! This month started a little crazy for some of us as Hurricane Ida tore across the US. From Louisiana to New York, this storm caused major damage and left many flooded and without power for days. We are wishing everyone a speedy recovery and hope all are making it through this time safely.

For a Labor Day, this week didn’t have the pressure of past holiday releases. With a lot of us enjoying the start of the college football season and the 3-day weekend, it seems that brands didn’t want to compete with everything that was going on, but there is still some heat to be had.

Jordan Brand hasn’t missed a beat since the start of the year and they continue to give us something to look forward to, week after week. This week, the Women’s Air Jordan 4 “Shimmer” hit retailers, and a few compared these to the Off White x Jordan 4 “Sail”. This colorway features a tan upper that is designed to show wear over time, which is something that OG sneakerheads love and have started “aging” sneakers to give them a worn look. A gum heel tab, rubber straps, and a metallic Jumpman are other notable hits on this instant classic. Originally seen in the 1992 NBA All-Star Game, the Jordan 7 “Bordeaux” has been a staple in the Jordan 7 line. One of the top colorways of all the Jordan kicks, the “Bordeaux” was specific to the Retro 7, but now, we get this iconic colorway on a Retro 6 model. The “Bordeaux” Jordan Retro 6 arrived Saturday and gave us exactly what we could expect. Keeping with the classic black and grey upper with Bordeaux accents, the shoe stayed true to the classic look of the original.

With the announcement of the delay of the Quartersnacks x Nike SB Dunk Low, a lot felt this week would be a bust on the release calendar. As the week continued, we all noticed that Nike had other plans. The Nike Lebron 18 Low “Stewie” hit SNKRS on Friday and sold out in seconds. This pair resembles the Lebron 6 PE first seen back in 2009. The look of this sneaker is a direct representation of Stewie from Family Guy. The pair comes with cartoonish line work and in the colors of Stewie’s outfit: red, blue, and yellow.

Other notable releases this week is the Yeezy Slide restock on the Confirmed app, the Nike ACG Air Mowabb, and WTAPS x New Balance 990v2. As we get closer to the holiday season, the rumors, quick strikes, and shock drops will be coming at us at full speed. Keep your ear to the streets because the next few months will be crazy. With so many releases pushed back, there will be a lot to grab and add to your closet. As always, continue to rise, grind and buy sneakers.
