Caitlin Clark Brings Out The Kobe 5 Protro

Before the regular season even tips off, Caitlin Clark is already making headlines. Back on the court during preseason play, #22 debuted a brand new player-exclusive Nike Kobe 5 Protro — and sneaker Twitter immediately took notice.

The latest PE leans into Clark’s now-signature Kobe line relationship, this time drawing inspiration from The Parent Trap — a film she’s referenced before in her sneaker choices. The colorway features a white foundation with a marbled outsole, delicate aqua and yellow accents, and Fever-approved red Sheath branding on the tongue. It’s subtle. It’s personal. And it hits.

Clark has become the unofficial face of Nike’s Kobe line, wearing player-exclusive colorways throughout the WNBA season that range from the sentimental to the flat-out hard. She’s rocked Cookie Monster colorways, a Bella (her dog) tribute, and the metallic silver Rookie of the Year PE that officially dropped at retail for $190 on April 15. Each one has felt deliberate — a storytelling device worn on her feet.

The larger context here is the looming Caitlin Clark signature shoe. Nike is expected to debut her first-ever personal silhouette in Fall 2026, likely between July and September, and it’s one of the most anticipated drops in the brand’s history. In the meantime, these Kobe PEs are doing all the right things: building anticipation, telling her story one colorway at a time, and proving she has the sneaker credibility to back up the signature when it arrives.

One thing is clear heading into Year 2: healthy and back in uniform, Clark is ready to run it back. And her rotation is already fire.
