Mid-Week Roundup 12.9

Hello December! Time for new goals, new achievements, and new sneakers! We are in the last month of 2020, and with all this year has given us, we can all agree we are ready to jump into 2021 feet first. Just be sure when you buy a new sneaker, you grab a gift for the family. Never say we didn’t give you some good advice.

New Balance brought back a classic for the 80s this week with the New Balance 550. The 1989 basketball shoe returns in two OG colorways. Each will have a white leather upper with red on one shoe and blue detailing on the other. Reebok and the Question Mid are paying homage to the Philadelphia Eagles, giving acknowledgement to the city where Allen Iverson became a Hall of Famer. The throwback Eagles-inspired colorway comes with a white mesh upper, two tone laces, and green detailing all throughout the sneaker. The midsole is grey to represent the jersey worn by the Eagles until 1996.

The Nike Dunk low and Nike Dunk SB has been the highlight of the year. Both have put out multiple OG colorways and new collabs that have been keeping everyone on their toes and been the craze of this year. Nike SB is continuing that trend with the Frame Skate x Nike SB Dunk Low “Habibi”. This pair is dressed in the colors of the UAE flag with a white leather upper and double layered black leather and green corduroy swooshes. These released at Frame Skate through the online raffle but there was a twist. The skate shop customers had to complete an online game, “Heart of the City” to be eligible to enter the raffle.

Jordan Brand has started its’ holiday release calendar with the release of the Women’s Air Jordan 8 “Burgundy” and the Air Jordan 9 “University Blue”. Both new colorways are clean and perfect to start the Christmas season. The Jordan 9 “University Blue” is an ode to Jordan’s years as a UNC Tar Heel. This pair features similar color blocking to the OG IX color scheme with the white upper and black overlays. The Jordan 8 is almost identical to the fan favorite “Bugs Bunny” 8’s with a nice twist. Instead of the bright red hits, the red is now replaced with a nice deep burgundy.

The release everyone has been waiting on this week is the re-release of the “Core Black” Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2. The all-black Yeezy 350 with the red “SPLY- 350” along each side is one of the Yeezys that all want and need. A simple black sneaker that can go with everything is a must in any closet.

Some major releases this week but the best is yet to come. Be expecting more from each brand and don’t be surprised if we get multiple shock drops and surprise releases the closer we get to the end of the year. As always, Good Hunting and continue to rise, grind and buy sneakers.
