Monthly Outlook for April

April is here! April showers, warm weather, the Easter Holiday, and tons of dope sneakers to cop. The restock has been the name of the game lately with Jordan Brand, adidas, and others, restocking major releases: old and new. Jordan Brand has opened the Jordan Reserve vault quite a few times since the month has started and adidas has announced the return of the OG Yeezy 350. This is enough to call April a great month in the sneaker world.

Jordan Brand started the month with the Air Jordan 1 High 85 “Georgetown”, and as with all Jordan 1 High sneakers, this one didn’t disappoint. The upper comes in a clean grey leather base with hints of navy on the toe box, eyelets, overlays, and heel. Set to release on April 9th, the Air Jordan 5 “Jade Horizon” after originally being scheduled for the holiday season. This Air Jordan 5 is dressed in a light olive green durabuck with translucent yellow eyelets. The P-51 Mustang fighter plane inspiration is seen in black on this sneaker and the gum outsole adds an extra accent to this clean Retro 5. If we got nothing else from the start of 2022, we got that it is the year of the return of the Retro 2.

On April 29th, the A-Ma Maniere x Air Jordan 2 is expected to hit SNKRS and online at A-Ma-Maniere.com for $225. The sneaker is covered in a Sail and Burgundy Crush colorway with black accents all over. Similar to the Air Jordan 3, this sneaker comes with the quilted sock liner and co-branding on the tongue and insoles. For some of us, the return of the Jordan 2 has been the highlight of the year! With news of the OG Chicago Retro 2 dropping for the holiday season, 2022 keeps getting better and better.

Nike and the Dunk Highs and Lows keep rolling with the releases of some OG heat and a few new collaborations. Pre-aged sneakers are the new craze and Nike decided to get into it and release the Nike Dunk High “Vintage Black”. Coming in a two-tone white and black colorway with sail laces and a vintage-aged look. This look makes the shoe seem that it has oxidized or “yellowed”. This is usually something you see on many OG sneakers and is a right of passage for OG sneakerheads. These are set to drop on April 7th on SNKRS for a retail price of $125.

Union LA has been busy this month with upcoming drops of two different Air Jordan 2 and a couple of Nike Dunk Lows. The Union x Nike Dunk Low “Argon” features two shades of blue on the upper and the sneaker itself is said to represent your passport. The shoe, just like your passport, will travel with you everywhere you go and be essential for your traveling needs. The Swoosh comes in a grey ripstop and a “UN/LA tag has been placed on the lateral side. A hangtag has been attached to look like a baggage claim and the box is designed like a boarding pass, completing the traveling-inspired sneaker.

Other notable releases this month are the Off-White x Nike Blazer Low, the first Off-White since the tragic passing of Virgil Abloh; The Flintstones x Reebok collection, the Polaroid x Nike SB Dunk Low, and the Nike Dunk Low PRM “Cider”. A lot of heat this month up for grabs, with a lot of surprises sprinkled in there. Stay tuned for any updates and changes on release dates, and as always, continue the good hunt and rise, grind and buy sneakers.
