Nike x Parra – Perfect Collab?
Parra yet again has one of the most coveted collabs of 2019 with the Nike SB Dunk Low.
Collaborations are probably the most exciting releases nowadays. It doesn’t matter if it’s Travis Scott, Kanye West or even SpongeBob. Brands create great things with the help of celebrities, other brands or stores. This summer was especially hot for those who love the Nike Skateboarding line, as one of the recent sneaker and apparel collaboration with Parra released.
Parra has now become a contemporary Dutch fashion brand, influencing streetwear trends in many ways. Its’ creator, Piet Parra, is known for quite often shocking designs with the use of eye-catching colors. He usually mixes blue, red and pink and this time was no different. The new Nike SB x Parra pack contains Dunks, Blazers and lots of apparel such as t-shirts, pants, caps, socks.
I was lucky enough to get both the Dunks and Blazers, as well as the limited multicolor pants, which released this past Summer, in selected skate shops only (my store had just about 5 pairs overseas). I actually had to take a few hours off work, just to queue for them but it was well worth it. The pants look incredible and their baggy fit gives you a relaxed, cozy look.
With regards to the kicks, both Dunks and Blazers have comfortable lining and run true to size. I would even risk saying that getting Dunks a half size bigger won’t do any harm. Nike also added extra multicolor laces that may tickle your fancy. This colorway won’t go unnoticed on the streets and prices WILL go up, so you better stock up while you still can.
The only somewhat disappointing aspect for me is that both pairs were made on the OG outsoles, rather than SB ones but I suppose it’s just me being a purist. Don’t get me wrong, I still love them.
Nike and Parra have a long history of collaborations, so take a look at the previous designs they created:
