An unlikely guest stopped by the Chicago Sky’s locker room as they took on the visiting Washington Mystics for a 12:00 pm start. The arena was rocking, as fans poured in for the Sky’s Kids And Music theme Day sponsored by Illinois health care provider IlliniCare.

Chicago native, Chance The Rapper, was on hand to receive the Sky’s “Community Hero” award for his philanthropic work done in the community, along with a custom Sky “Bennett” #3 jersey.

During his halftime speech, Chance thanked the fans and offered words of encouragement, to which he received an overwhelming amount of support. Before making his way off the court, he made sure to plug his highly anticipated upcoming project “Owbum”, which is speculated to make its’ release sometime next month. Owbum will be the follow up project to “Coloring Book”; his Grammy Award-winning album.

Following his speech, he made his way to the Sky’s locker room, where he greeted the team with a classic ‘Yeeerrrr’ as he entered the room.

Chance made his way around dapping up each player and staff member in the locker room.

To the team’s surprise, Chance had a game plan ready to be drawn up, that no one saw coming. With the encouragement of Coach Wade, he grabbed a marker and made his way toward the dry-erase board.

Drawing a dot in the middle of the board, he replied “So this them, and this us right! We gotta run a W-I-N!

Despite their hard-fought second half efforts, the Sky fell short to Elena Delle Donne and the Mystics 81-74, inside of Wintrust Arena.

The Sky will return to action at home, Sunday, July 7th at 6pm ET, to take on the visiting Dallas Wings.
