Dallas Wings Preseason Action

The WNBA is a less than a week away, and preseason is in full swing! Saturday evening, we got a look at the Dallas Wings in action versus the Connecticut Sun.

With injuries and some stars still having overseas obligations, the Wings were missing Sabally, Alarie, Harrison, Ogunbowale, and the number two pick, Awak. So with only playing seven to eight players, this game gave us a glimpse of some of the new additions to the Wings for this upcoming year. Allisha Gray led the Wings with 19 points and also contributed 9 rebounds and the number one pick, Collier, added a nice double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The team as a whole shot a nice 41% from the field and 47% from three, keeping track with being the team that shot the most threes during the bubble. Despite the amazing shooting percentages, the Sun went on a tear during the 2nd quarter and Dallas couldn’t quite get a hold on the point deficit and take the lead.

Gray: 19 pts, 9 rebounds; Collier: 10 pts, 10 rebounds; Dungee: 9 pts, 1 rebound, 1 assist; Harris: 10 pts, 3 rebounds, 1 assist; Evans: 3 pts, 3 assist

With all the star power returning very soon and the season kicking off this weekend, the future is shining bright on the Dallas Wings. The first game of the regular season will be Friday at 9:30 pm CT against the Los Angeles Sparks.
