Brittney Sykes to Participate in #WeAreWomen & #WeAreGirls Self-Defense Class

 In honor of our #WeAreWomen theme night, the LA Sparks will host a self-defense class in partnership with Divas In Defense for women and girls in the Los Angeles area on Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Yvonne B. Burke Sports Complex. 

Divas In Defense® is a self-defense training group designed for women that provides a fun and energetic courses specializing in self-defense, non-lethal weapons training, and workplace safety training. The courses are geared toward females ages 4 and older. Divas In Defense emphasizes physical empowerment to help protect and bolster self-confidence in women. 

The session will be a total of 60 minutes of active situational awareness and self-defense techniques. Participants will learn the ABC’s of self-defense: Awareness, Boundary Setting and Confidence Building. 

This outdoor event requires proof of vaccination and masks. Those participating are encouraged to wear comfortable and moveable clothing.
