The Mystics On-Court Kicks Flavor Is Spicing Up Their Game

While playing great basketball and winning games is certainly their main focus, no one ever said they couldn’t do it in style.

The Mystics have been on an offensive tear lately. After a lackluster season opener in Connecticut, in which they only scored 69 pts, they are averaging almost 98 ppg on 50.5% from the field and 38% from three-point range over the past 3 games. Needless to say, the ladies aren’t missing much. We could attribute this to their crisp ball movement, resulting in high-quality shots but me personally, I think it has everything to do with their kicks. In the words of the immortal Deion “Primetime” Sanders, “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good.”

And if you look at the Mystics, it appears that truer words were never spoken. Whether you take Natasha Cloud in the Kobe AD NXT or Elena Delle Donne debuting the “Be True” KD 12’s in NY on Friday or the LeBron Soldier 13’s she broke out today, the only thing hotter than the ladies’ footwear, is their shooting.

Eleven/10 🔥 #SticsFITS

The Mystics kept up their torrid offensive pace Sunday afternoon against the Dallas Wings. After a gritty first half, the ladies poured it on in the second half and put up 30 pts in the 4th quarter. Aerial Powers and Tiana Hawkins combined for 39 pts. Aerial got busy in a clean pair of Kyrie’s and Tiana poured in a then career-high 21 pts in the KD 12 90’s she’s been rocking all season.

I feel like there’s some “Like Mike” stuff going on here. If you’ve ever seen that movie, you know how Calvin Cambridge torched dudes when he laced up those busted Nike Blazers. That’s basically what the Mystics are doing to their opponents lately, except they are lacing up some serious heat. The Mystics are not only one of the best teams in the league, but also the best dressed. We will definitely be on the lookout for what they bless the court with next.

The ladies are on a mission this season as they look to not only get back to the Finals but to bring a championship to the Nation’s capital. They are off to a hot start and don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. With the defending champs not having two of their best players for a majority of the season (Brenna Stewart – knee, Sue Bird – knee) and the Mystics returning their core and having one of the deepest rosters in the WNBA, they look to be in the driver’s seat. Ariel Atkins is building off of a solid rookie season and is off to a hot start this season, as well which gives them another scoring punch.

While playing great basketball and winning games is certainly their main focus, no one ever said they couldn’t do it in style. Natasha Cloud has already deemed EDD the plug for heat, so maybe they will link up, and give us something special while they gear up for their title run. And if they do, you can guarantee we will be there to capture it.
