Jordan Brand Launches New Series Focused on Education and Awareness

Today, Jordan Brand announced “REAL TALK,” a content series dedicated to highlighting key issues facing the Black Community, with a focus on education and awareness, while encouraging voting, community involvement and economic and social justice reform advocacy.

“We know our commitment requires action, not just words, and we are already seeing signs that change is possible when inspiration meets action,” said Craig Williams, President of Jordan Brand. “We will continue to do our part to create actionable and meaningful change to bring equal justice and opportunity for Black people and all people of color.”

Debuting October 7, the Brand’s new series, Jordan REAL TALK, will highlight key issues facing the Black community and how to drive actionable solutions. Hosted by social commentator Angela Rye, the series features Jordan family athletes and influencers, journalists, social justice experts and community activists in candid conversation.

With focus on education and awareness, two of the priority areas of Jordan Brand’s community commitment, Jordan REAL TALK’s aim is to help people better understand how racism still affects the Black community today.

The series extends the belief that by understanding the problem, together we can begin to overcome systemic racism. With action as its foundation, Jordan REAL TALK encourages voting, community involvement and economic and social justice reform advocacy.

Featuring special guests Chris Paul, Jordan Brand family member, and Baratunde Thurston, writer and activist, the themes in episode one include the basics of voting, the importance of local officials, the challenges of misinformation and the power of the Black vote. Additional episodes cover voting literacy, voter suppression and allyship.

Jordan REAL TALK episodes will air on Jordan Brand’s YouTube and Instagram channels, and episode one will be available beginning October 7.
