Kobe 6 Rumored to Retro in 2021

After Kobe’s tragic passing earlier this year, Nike decided to pull all merchandise from their website and shelves. Not only did his untimely death shock the entire world, but it also took a toll on the sneaker community. Kobe signature sneakers became even more of a hot commodity, and you already know the resell prices skyrocketed.

Nike has given us the “Protro” series with some oldies and some crazy new colorways in the Kobe 4 and 5. The “Draft Day” Kobe 4 “Protro was the first, representing Kobe’s draft day and being drafted number 13 to the Charlotte Hornets. Later, traded to the Lakers, Kobe made history as a Laker over a 20-year career, having both the number 8 and 24, retired, and being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. The Kobe 5 “Chaos” also got the Protro treatment after a long-awaited return. Inspired by the Joker, the Kobe 5 “Chaos” originally released on December 26, 2009 and Kobe debuted on Christmas Day and put up 38 points for the win against the Kings.

Now, we get rumors that the Kobe 6 will get the Protro treatment next. This model featured a scale like design representing the Black Mamba and a crazy array of colorways. It is rumored that in 2021, we will get the “Think Pink”, “All Star”, “3D”, “Del Sol”, and, probably the most sort after Kobe release ever, “The Grinch” colorways!

“The Grinch” first hit the court in 2010 and was an instant smash! One of the most eye-popping colorways on everybody’s radar. The “Grinch” 6 has been listed on reseller websites such as Flight Club and StockX for a minimum of $1,000 if not more.

Stay tuned for more information on these releases and more updates on later releases from Nike.
