Midweek Roundup 8.12

Sports brands ended July with a bang and didn’t let up for the first week of August. There was heat coming in all week, and it was hard to make a decision with so much dropping. Jordan, Nike, ASICS, and others, all came with the pressure and hopefully, you got lucky this past week on the sneakers you were on the “hunt” for.

Jordan Brand dropped the Air Jordan Retro 1 High “Satin Red Snakeskin” in the full family sizes. These were highly sought after, as just about every Retro 1 High is, and in hand, these didn’t disappoint. The satin sits so nicely on the iconic colorway and the snakeskin gives this sneaker an extra pop. Pairs may be hard to come by now but, pairs are floating around reseller apps like StockX for a price tag of $280 and up. Jordan Brand also gives us the Air Jordan 1 High “Neutral Gray”. Originally dropped in Tokyo, these are very similar to the silver anniversary release from 2010. A lot were disappointed these didn’t come with the suitcase like the Tokyo in 2010 release, but these are still a hot commodity. With an all silver upper and a with sole, these are a must for a Jordan head.

Sean Wotherspoon has been a collab madman over the past few years. The Nike Air Max 1/97 VF SW is still bringing in resell prices of over $1,000 and his next collab wasn’t too far behind. The Sean Wotherspoon x Atmos x Ascis Gel Lyte 3 has been one of the most anticipated sneakers this year and the ones we have been waiting on a release for, for a long time. First rumored months ago, after popping up on Wotherspoon’s IG page, we finally got a release date in late July and the buzz never stopped. Some were lucky to win raffles and have releases in their hometowns and yet others, unfortunately, are still looking for that luck. This clean, multicolored model of the Gel Lyte 3, comes with changeable Asics detachments, as well as a group of different tees and socks to match. Right now, you can grab a pair on the GOAT app for about $550, depending on your size.

New Balance gave us new colorway in the New Balance 327, on Saturday morning via Footlocker and other sneaker sites. This clean, everyday sneaker is good to have in rotation for when outside finally opens. These are perfect for a brunch, with some dope jeans, and nice tee, and a fly fitted. For a price tag of $90, they are perfect for a quick cop and outfit, when you are on the go and need a go-to on the move.

Nike basketball has been crazy in both bubbles, with different colorways and PEs in just about every sneaker, and we are here for it. Lebron previewed the Nike Lebron 18, and he also blessed the court with the Lebron 17 “Titan”. Since 2010, Titan has existed as a hub for sneaker lovers. Titan and the Philippines’ love for basketball came to a head with Nike’s partnership in 2019, with the Lebron 16 Low “Agimat” and is still going strong. These were officially released at all Titan doors on August 1st, but had a wider UK release over the past weekend.

The heat keeps coming and coming, so don’t expect it to slow down anytime soon. With the playoffs in both bubbles looming, Mamba Day in the near future, and so much more going on, keep you ear to the streets and tune in for all your release details.

As always, Good Hunting.
