New Balance Vision Racer x Jayden Smith

Jayden Smith has developed a very independent and individual style over the last couple of years and I salute him for this. The young entrepreneur has recently teamed up with New Balance to put his idea into a never-before-seen sneaker – the Vision Racer. While the first colorways already released this summer, there are some new options that just dropped: Sunflower Yellow and Surplus.

The shoe is definitely something new in New Balance’s lineup and is a modern twist on their runners. When you look at Vision Racers, the first thing you notice is the over-sized, chunky sole that makes the shoe look quite heavy, but also comfy. The popularity of wide dad-style sneakers is still there, so Smith’s vision is definitely touching on current trends.

The sole of Vision Racer incorporates EVA technology for better cushioning, while the outsole is translucent and features ((VISION)) written underneath. What’s interesting is that the whole shoe is vegan and a substantial part of it is made of recycled materials – that makes me like them even more!
