Nike AJ 5 Retro ‘Toro Bravo’
It’s the first time Nike brought back Air Jordan 5 Toro Bravo from the Raging Bulls pack, originally released back in 2009. As expected, people went crazy for them and the shoes sold out right away.
The sneakers feature a fully-red suede upper and 3M reflective tongues. There are also icy outsoles and black midsoles with a visible Air bag, as well as red Warhawk-inspired ‘teeth’. The shoe box has a wooden print on it, paying homage to the original packaging. There aren’t any major differences between the 2009 and 2021 release, maybe except for the RRP.
Fit-wise, I like to get AJ5’s true to size, but 0.5 bigger could also be good. All depends on if you want to rock them unlaced, with thick socks or if your feet are wider.
Nevertheless, it’s a great shoe which played an important role in sneaker history, so it’s good to see Jordan Brand bringing these back.
