Nike Is Stepping Up for Frontline Workers in a Major Way

With the world currently in the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic, many are using their platforms to help those affected the most. Many athletes and celebrities have jumped headfirst into the “All In Challenge”. With this, fans can get a chance to have once in a lifetime interactions with their favorite stars. Others have donated money and medical equipment. Nike has joined in the philanthropic efforts in a unique way.

Back in December, Nike developed the Air Zoom Pulse specifically for medical workers as they spend countless hours on their feet, providing service to patients. Now with them working to battle this virus, Nike thought of the perfect way to get their shoe to the targeted demographic. They’ll just give it to them.

Nike has pledged to donate 140,000 pieces of footwear, apparel, and equipment, including the Air Zoom Pulse, exclusively to frontline medical workers to show their appreciation for those who are fighting this pandemic head-on. They are targeting some of the most heavily impacted cities including Chicago, LA, and New York.

They will extend their efforts abroad as well by sending pairs to hospitals in Berlin, Paris, Belgium, Milan, Barcelona, and London. I’m sure the gesture will be appreciated by those impacted. Nike has already contributed more than $24 million to relief efforts and they will continue to try to aid those working tirelessly for the public in any way they can.

The shoe is actually quite dope as well. Crocs might have some competition in the medical footwear game. But big kudos to Nike for stepping up for the folks who are literally risking their lives on a daily basis to ensure that we return to normalcy at some point.
