NIKE PG 5 X PLAYSTATION

Nike, Paul George, and PlayStation teamed up once again on PG’s latest signature shoe, the PG 5, with a PS5-inspired design showcasing the athlete’s love for his favorite gaming brand.

The PG 5 ‘PlayStation™5’ picks up where previous models left off with the tongues of the shoe showcasing the PG and PlayStation logos. The colors were heavily inspired by the industrial design of the PS5 with references on the sock liner and outsoles. It wouldn’t be a true collaboration with PlayStation if it didn’t include the iconic PlayStation shapes, which are spotted along the shoe upper in the same pattern as on the DualSense controller.

The upper also features tiny PlayStation symbols, just like the PS5 console and DualSense wireless controller.

Nike and PlayStation designers collaborated closely on the PG 5 ‘PlayStation™5’. Nike designers consulted Sony Interactive Entertainment Art Director Yujin Morisawa even before the PS5 console had been announced. Morisawa-san could not show any images and had to verbally convey his artistic vision and creative ethos for the PS5, which the Nike team used for inspiration.

The PG 5 ‘PlayStation™5’ will retail for $120 USD at Nike.com, SNKRS and select retail locations. This colorway will launch in select regions globally starting 5.14, and will be available in North America on 5.27.
