Nike SB Dunk Low Pro ‘Sashiko’

Another week, another hot drop on the radar. Nike SB Dunk Sashiko just had their final release in Europe last weekend, and I’m happy to be able to quickly review them for you. Firstly, you need to know that I’m a Dunkhead, with 10 years’ experience, so I know a good Dunk when I see one (hint: Sashiko counts in).

SB Dunks are a nice and comfortable sneaker overall. The thick tongue and laces give them the skatey feel, but they are also good as a casual shoe. While the older releases from a few years back had more cushioning in the upper – the current, lighter ones are still comfortable and stylish.

Sashikos feature soft light blue suede, dark denim panels and are finished off with white embroidery. The name of the colorway is literally derived from a Japanese form of decorative stitching, that was an inspiration for this pair.

The sneakers come in a fresh Nike SB purple box and as soon as you open it, you know you’re in for a treat. The first thing I noticed was the embroidered swoosh that is a very creative detail. I wasn’t sure if I liked it when I first saw the leaked pictures online, but it definitely looks amazing in person now. I also like how the label on the tongue is stitched in a zigzag kind of way – it gives the shoes even more character. Finally, the contrasting white midsole and gum outsole are a great finish to the whole design. There are no glue marks or loose stitching, so I’m super pleased with the overall quality.

If you don’t have a pair of SB Dunks yet, I’d suggest you go and get this pair. When it comes to sizing, I prefer to go 0.5 size up, but my true size is okay as well. There will be more classic and SB Dunks coming soon, so make sure you stay tuned and I’ll be back with more reviews.
