Nike Serving Ecology

Ecology, climate change, sustainability – all these topics have become louder in the past few years. It’s not a surprise that corporations, such as Nike, have decided to openly take a stance and create products that reduce our footprint.

Back in July, the Oregon giant introduced its’ Space Hippie model line, inspired by life on Mars, as it heavily relied on recycling materials to create. The Flyknit upper was made of Space Waste yarn, consisting of 85-90% recycled content, which honestly sounds like a great result.

At this point, this eco-solution has been widely introduced in footwear and apparel, such as Benassi Slides, Vapormaxes, NBA jerseys and even customizable Air Force 1 By You.

I personally don’t have a pair yet, but I love odd patterns, so the AF1’s are definitely on my must-have list. It’s great that the companies are thinking more about sustainability and serving us some fresh styles, at the same time. With an abundance of fabrics and colors, you can create your own dream design. Once you do, tag us on Instagram and Twitter to show us what you got!

Make sure you stay tuned, as I will soon be looking into what Nike’s biggest rival – adidas – has to offer when it comes to planet-friendly products.
