Monthly Roundup: June

We are at the halfway point of the year 2022, and the releases have not disappointed. Crocs and Salehe Bembury have given us more colorways, the Jordan Retro 2 has taken over, and the Air Max 1 continues to be a summer go-to. With the heat bearing down on us, short shorts, your favorite tee, tank, or crop top – a fire pair of sneakers are essential. This month’s calendar is crazy and constantly changing with some releases being rescheduled and others being dropped randomly. Here are a few of the top releases on the calendar so far for June.

Nike and Tinker Hatfield have kept the Air Max 1 on top for years! Recently, Tinker Hatfield and the University of Oregon released a very limited edition Air Max 1 for the launch of the Duck Of A Feather NFT. Each pair is numbered, and with the multiple green overlays and rainbow check, these are one for the ages. The Air Max 1 x Kasina also hit SNKRS earlier this month in two different colorways, “Won-Ang” and “Mandarin Duck Grey”. Both are a must-have for your loyal AM1 heads! Both come with premium leather and suede, navy, maroon, orange, and cream cover the “Won-Ang” colorway, while navy, black, grey, and cream cover the other. Both represent the two wedding ducks given as a wedding gift in Korea. Typically, Mandarin ducks choose a mate for life, and these two are meant to be together forever.

Presto is another classic that Nike has brought back over the years and the colorways have not disappointed. The flashy and sought-after collab, Hello Kitty x Nike Air Presto returned stateside on June 10th to celebrate Hello Kitty’s 30th anniversary. This sneaker was never mass produced, with only 60 pairs known to be in existence and only given to friends and family.

Nike and Tom Sachs continue their NikeCraft relationship and brought us the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe. This shoe has a cream mesh upper and grey overlays. The grey mesh tongue features a tongue tag and pull tabs similar to the Nike Mars Yard series, but gives us a royal blue instead of red and royal blue. The heeltab has the usual Nike branding in Tom’s writing and the usual rugged black waffle outsole, completing this all-purpose sneaker.

Amidst the NBA playoffs, Jordan Brand has given us a chance to grab a crazy Air Jordan 36, the Jordan 36 Nitro “Taco Jay”. The Jordan 36 PE’s have been some of the most asked for PE’s of recent years and Jayson Tatum has had many that we have been begging Jordan Brand to release. Finally, we get the “Taco Jay” Jordan 36 and these are a must. A citron upper with green and orange accents, this shoe speaks volumes from across the room. Taco Jay is seen on the heel tan with the tongue and tongue pulltab representing lettuce in a slice lime green. This drop happens right before Father’s Day, so pick up dad something nice.

Other noted releases for June are the Kith x New Balance 990v3 “Daytona”, Puma MB.01 Low “UFO”, Nike Dunk Low “Barbershop”, Union x Nike Cortez, and the Nike “Be True” Pack. Jordan is constantly filling up the calendar with news of the Maison Chateau Rouge x Air Jordan 2 and the Air Jordan 6 “Red Oreo” both getting release dates this month. A lot of pressure has been announced with others coming in hot each day. Continue the good hunt and as always, rise, grind and buy sneakers!
