Weekly Roundup 3.6

Welcome to the first week of March, which usually brings pollen, spring showers, and brightly colored sneakers. Sundress season, festival season, and everything the warm weather provides, are around the corner. The sneaker calendar has been filling up with news of releases throughout 2022. The year of the Jordan 2 continues with, now, three confirmed Retro 2 releases and the news of the “Chicago” Jordan 1 High sent a shockwave heard around the sneaker community.

This week was one to add some classic heat to your closet. Air Max month has just started, so you know Nike would bring some heat. The Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 release this weekend via Concepts.com and once again, the collaboration is a must-have. Featuring an array of colors, patterns, and materials this AM1 is a must for Air Max heads and one for the record books. Bandana and Mexican blanket prints cover this sneaker with the addition of cow spotted dyed bovine fur. Concepts branding is stamped on the tongue, insoles, and hang tags. Drake’s long-awaited sneaker Nike sneaker also hit this weekend, and with some, it’s a hit. With others, not so much. The Drake x Nike NOCTA Hot Step Air Terra is a nod to the 90s trainers, and we all know, you either love them or you hate them. The sole is borrowed from the 1999’s Air Terra Humara. Metallic mini swooshes, exposed air units, and NOCTA logos on each tongue.

After an exclusive release last week, the JJJound x New Balance 990v3 got a wider release. New Balance has made its comeback over the past couple of years with major collaborations and these are no different. The 990v3 comes in an olive nubuck mesh upper with a black “N” logo, silver on the tongue, and cream accents and midsole. JJJound branding is stamped on each heel tab to finish this collab.

Adidas and Yeezy have kept it coming, week after week, and this week, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Static” hit retailers. This shoe displays a predominantly grey color scheme, with a grey mesh upper and leather overlays. Also from Adidas and Yeezy, it has been confirmed that more Yeezy Slides will be released. The Confirmed app had the Pure, Onyx, and Ochre colorways all at the same times and also, recently opened the drawing for the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Oreo”.

Other notable releases this week were the Jordan 6 “UNC”, which were not released on SNKRS on its released date on Saturday. Jordan Brand let everyone know that during the shock drop, all pairs were purchased and that retailers would be the only place to grab pairs. Supreme x Nike Dunk High, Size x Nike Dunk Low, the Women’s Nike Air More Uptempo “Summit White”, and the Golf Wang x Converse Chunk 70 Low “Python” were also released this past week. Spring is rolling in quickly. March Madness, spring showers, and Starburst jellybeans are all going to be upon us soon. On top of that, the sneaker calendar will continue to fill up, so if you haven’t copped anything lately, get your funds ready. As always, continue the good hunt and rise, grind and buy sneakers.
