The Atlanta Dream Have A New Home And Logo

The Atlanta Dream unveiled their new logo and location for next season. The Dream will play at the brand new Gateway Arena, located in College Park. Atlanta Hawks’ G-League team, the College Park Skyhawks, will play there as well.

Co-owners of the Dream opened the press conference up, talking about how finding a new home was very important.

“The Atlanta Dream seeks to represent the best of Atlanta, from a diverse community, to warm hospitality, to the sports and entertainment leadership our city is increasingly known for,” Brock and Loeffler said. “When we learned we needed to find a new home court, we turned a challenge into an opportunity, and are thrilled to showcase the Atlanta Dream in College Park at the Gateway Center, where the growth of the city is evident. We’re excited to offer our fans a professional basketball experience in a state-of-the-art setting.”

The press conference took place at the Georgia International Convention Center. The Executive Director of GICC, Mercedes Miller, talked about how essential it was for her to get the Dream in College Park.

“This partnership with the Dream confirms our validity as a major economic influencer for the Atlanta Metropolitan Area,” Miller said. “I salute the Atlanta Dream for the foresight to recognize the value of this new relationship. This is a historic moment for the City of College Park and a dream come true for me! We are looking forward to the Dream’s loyal fans making the Gateway Arena @ College Park their new home.”

The team announced their new logo through a video — the new logo inspired by a Phoenix, shooting star, and a basketball. Last year, the team were starting their rebranding process.

Atlanta Dream’s President and General Manager, Chris Sienko, talked to media about how playing at the Gateway Arena will be a lot easier to schedule games.

“Other arenas have basketball events and hockey. Here we have the first opportunity to be the holder of all the events. When we come in, I have any date that I want. So when the playoffs come, I know all the possible dates I need are mine.”
