The Weekly Roundup 5.31

Last week was a weird week for the sneaker community. No Saturday releases from Nike but the week prior give us some stuff to be excited and equally disappointed about when the Ls were headed out.

The Nike Dunk “Brazil” hit the scene on the 21st and we all were ready and waiting when the drop opened. Only a few got lucky but these are still a hot commodity in the sneaker streets. This dunk is part of a SNKRS special “Team Tones”. Highlighting some of the iconic colorways of well-known teams like Brazil national team and others. The “Brazil” dunk hit and left just as fast but you can still grab a pair on apps like GOAT and StockX.

Jordan Brand is giving us the Jordan Retro IV “Metallic” series based on the Retro 1 series from years prior. These came in an all-white upper with metallic accents in the colors: orange, green, and purple. A lot of ppl thought these wouldn’t get much traction but, on release day, these were sold out in minutes. These released on Wednesday, May 20, and give us a taste of how it was on release day back in the ’90s when all Jordan releases were during the week. Who remembers checking into school late with a fresh pair of Jays on your feet? No feeling like it.

Nike SB retailers got an early hand on Ben and Jerry “Chunky Dunky” Nike SB and these were a hard one to get your hand on. SB retailers raffled sneakers and the official date of release was the 22nd and we all wanted patiently for an email, phone call, smoke signal, anything! The “Chunky Dunky” came in a special packaging that looked like Ben and Jerry ice cream carton that made these even more “sweet” to have. SNRKS give us another chance in a drawing format but not too many got lucky enough to cop a pair.

With it being a “weird” week and some crazy exclusive releases hitting on random days, it throws a lot of us off our game. This weekend, we are back to normal with the Jordan Retro 13 “Flint” release and the Nike x Travis Scott Air Max 270 releases and a few more. So hopefully we have some better luck and some good hunting.
