Weekly Roundup 11.16

November is winding down and the heat is picking up! The closer we get to the Thanksgiving holiday, the more we are blessed with some of the most exclusive heat of the year. This is the time of year you have to plan accordingly and make sure if you buy a sneaker, bring home a gift for the family also. Just a little advice that can help you make or break your holidays.

Nike has brought back the Nike Dunk in style this year and they haven’t missed yet! This week, we got a chance to grab the Nike Dunk “Veneer”. Originally a Japan-exclusive, the “Veneer” was released in 2001 and came dressed in a brown and green upper with purple detailing. Nike has also come in strong with the Nike SB releases this year and the Nike Dunk SB Low “Elephant” adds to the list. This sneaker is made to resemble Atmos’ iconic “Elephant” Air Max 1 collaboration. Despite no official Atmos affiliation, this pair mimics just about every feature of the memorable release. With no SNRKS release, skateboard stores like Rukus 103 in Baton Rouge, raffled pairs via their IG page, and had us all scrambling to be in the select numbers, to bring a pair home.

Because of circumstances beyond everyone’s control, the Olympics were postponed and not held this year. But, this didn’t stop Nike for giving us three dope colorways in the Nike Presto that represented different Olympic teams and past history of the great games. This week, we got a chance to pick up the Nike Presto “Navy Olympic”. The USA themed pair comes to us in a very similar design as the retail release back in the year 2000. This never released navy blue pair has USA logos embroidered on the tongue and beautiful red accents. All coming together to complete this very patriotic design. Nike and Kyrie Irving debuted his seventh installment in his signature line this Wednesday with the Nike Kyrie 7 “Mystery Box”. Everyone who purchased the “Pre-Heat” colorway on SNRKS will be randomly sent one of the four colorways, “Icons of Sport”, “Expressions”, “Soundwave”, and “Special FX.” Some different but a very dope way to bring in the newest wave of Kyrie heat.

The Nike x Sacai LDWaffle was the top shoe of 2019. The crazy design and bright colorways were something different and iconic for the time. The double tongue and double check design was something we had never seen before and these took off and never looked back. Now we get the next installment in this dope collaboration. The Sacai x Nike VaporWaffle is up next and comes to us in two colorways. The VaporWaffle continues to use the layered design from the LDWaffle collab by fusing elements from the Vaporfly and Waffle Racer. Jordan Brand give us a eye popping design on the Air Jordan V this week and these didn’t take long to sell out and leave Jordan heads wanting more. The “What The” Jordan V is getting the mismatched treatment and borrowing designs from the “Tokyo”, “Quai 54”, “Raging Bull”, “Green Bean”, “Olive” and many others.

Jordan Brand is also retroing another Jordan 1 from the CO.JP program. Previously a Japan exclusive back in 2001, the “Midnight Navy” colorway comes in a white upper, navy overlays, and metallic branding. Concepts and Nike SB teamed up to bring us a crazy exclusive collab inspired by the crazy Thanksgiving entree, the Turdunken. The theme is represented with details like hairy suede panels, laser cut leather said to resemble duck features, and an orange sole for the duck feet. Shoppers will have the ability to purchase a version of this sneaker in an limited edition box with includes Thanksgiving leftovers inspired Nerf football, special chicken socks, and a fiery oven special box.

This week has a lot of heat and weeks following have even more. Other notable releases this week are the Cardi B x Reebok Club C and the BBC ICECREAM x Reebok Question Low “Running Dog” Collection. The next few weeks will be crazy. Expect lots of shock drops, surprise releases, and much much more. As always, Good Hunting!
