Weekly Roundup 10.26
October is in full swing! Scary movies, pumpkin spice everything, and cool weather. Everything we love most about this season and the craziest that comes with the end of the year. As always, the releases get bigger and better, getting closer to the end of 2020.
New Balance was in full swing this week with a couple of releases you couldn’t pass up. The Jaden Smith x New Balance Vision Racer “Surplus” came to us in a sort of “What The” feel with a mismatched and eco-friendly design. These are made of leftover fragments of the production floor making no two pair the same. The highly anticipated Salehe Bembury x New Balance 2002R also hit the scene this weekend and did not disappoint. The “Peace Be The Journey” colorway has a yellow mesh upper with a darker shade of orange used for the suede overlay.
Reebok has been blessing us and bringing back all the nostalgic memories with the releases of so many OG colorways and this week, we get the OG Kamikaze 2. Worn by Shawn Kemp in the 90s, these were a must then and now. Back when the Seattle Supersonics were taking the NBA by storm, Kemp was a highlight by himself and the flare of the Kamikaze did nothing but help. This pair comes to us in a white upper with the black and forest green accents to match the Supersonics’ jersey. Reebok also decided to bring back two epic prints of the BBC ICE CREAM from 2005 on the Reebok Question low model. The “Name Chains” and “Beepers and Butts” were both originally designed by streetwear legend, Sk8thing.
The Nike Adapt BB 2.0 is considered the future of basketball. We have seen A’ja Wilson, 2020 WNBA MVP, bless the hardwood with multiple colorways of this sneaker and this week, we got a chance to grab the “Mag” colorway. Based off of the Nike Air Mag best known for its’ appearance in Back to the Future 2, both are and were ahead of their time. With custom fitting and auto-lacing technology, these are made to be the best hoop shoe around. Kevin Durant and the Aunt Pearl model have been a staple of his signature series since the KD 4 and every year, this colorway flies off the shelves. This year, the KD 13 “Aunt Pearl” comes to us in an all-pink upper with a marbled midsole and pearlized Swoosh. This is the KD everyone wants. The pink always pops and these also support breast cancer awareness and donate proceeds to the research of battling this disease. LeBron’s latest installment also dropped this weekend with the Lebron 18 “Lakers”. Perfect for any Lakers fan, these come in a black knit upper, purple heel, and subtle gold detailing.
Jordan brand always brings the heat going into the 4th quarter of the year. The Air Jordan 12 “Concord” is a nod to the Mike Bibby PE back when he was the point guard for the Sacramento Kings. These feature an all-black nubuck upper, matching iguana scale overlays, and metallic purple accents. Also dropping this weekend, another colorway in the Jordan 35. The Jordan 35 “Warrior” is a special design for the Washington Wizards forward, Rui Hachimura. This sneaker features a black upper, red suede, and Hachimura’s Kanji-inspired samurai logo on the left tongue.
Other notable releases this week included the Pharrell x Adidas NMD Hu “Dash Green”, the Comme de Garçons x Air Force 1 collab, and Nike ISPA Road Warrior “Clear Jade”. All cops will set your closet up perfectly for the end of the year and allow you to step into the fourth quarter in style. Stay tuned for upcoming releases and information because news is coming fast and you don’t want to miss out. As always, rise, grind and buy sneakers.
