Weekly Roundup 2.28

This week, we got some classic heat with some new collabs that were must grabs. Nike also introduced the newest model in the Nike Basketball division and as always, give us an introduction that couldn’t be ignored. As always, we had some #Sadderdays but, some were lucky to grab some new heat and add some pressure to their closets.

Nike Dunk is still going strong, and this week we got a chance to pick up two more colorways in what seems to be, the shoe of the last couple of years. The “Vast Grey” colorway and “Football Grey” colorway both feature clean leather uppers and the iconic Dunk OG colorblocking. Nike basketball also introduced its’ newest performance model with the Cosmic Unity. The first colorway features a clean black version of the new hoop shoe with a marbled swoosh, speckled green glow midsole, and multicolored laces. We first got a glimpse of these via Instagram with A’ja Wilson debuting the shoe a few weeks back. The shoe is said to feature 25% recycled material by weight, including a Carter Foam midsole partially made of Nike Grind. Also from Nike Basketball, the Nike Kyrie 7 “Chinese New Year” hit retailers this week. With the celebration of the Year of the Ox, this Kyrie 7 features a red upper, with blue laces, jade accents including a Kyrie logo on the tongue and special logo on the heel.

Readymade and Nike debuted a crazy take on the classic Nike Blazer Mid this weekend. Both feature in black and white based options with camo inspired patterns on the top of the shoe. The Swooshes on the shoe represent the original sketches from 1971 from Carolyn Davidson and this makes this shoe more of a must-have this week. Jordan Brand gave us another colorway in the Jordan 4, after a slight delay over the last couple of weeks. The Jordan 4 “Taupe Haze” has been compared to the Travis Scott sample and people couldn’t wait to get their hands on these. Sporting an earth tone upper and black accents, with bright red infrared hits, this shoe is a clean colorway to have for the end of the winter season.

Other notables this week would be the New Balance x Casablanca with matching pairs of the 237 and 327 and the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Ash” Pack with two colorways in the Yeezy Boost 350. With the month coming to an end, we have to keep reflecting on Black History all year round and the influences this history has had on sneaker culture. From RUN DMC, LL Cool J, Dapper Dan, etc. Black culture has been a big part of shaping sneaker culture and sneaker fashion. With designers like Aleali May and many others, black culture continues to mold this culture day in and day out, and will continue to do so for a very long time. As always, rise, grind, and buy sneakers. Good Hunting!
