Weekly Roundup 6.27
This week is the week we have been waiting for! With multiple options to add to your sneaker rotation, we had to all pick and choose what sneakers we would try to snag.
Things kicked off with the Nike Dunk Low “University Blue”. The Dunk craze has not slowed down a bit. With every Dunk instantly selling out, these were hard to come by. Most went to resell apps to grab a pair and others tried their luck on SNKRS, but no matter how you copped, these are a must. This clean UNC take on the Dunk Low comes in a white leather upper and university blue overlays. Nike also released another colorway in the “Free.99” Dunk Low. The second pair come in a white upper instead of black and the pastel overlays are inspired by the candy selection at local bodegas.
Lebron James and Nike have had an ongoing relationship since he entered the league in 2003. The Lebron 8 couldn’t be held in the vault for long, so first up, we get the Lebron 8 “Sprite”. The nickname comes from the vibrant colorway on this sneaker, sporting a royal blue upper and volt green outsole and accents. Originally released back in 2011, most feel this colorway was made as a nod to Lebron’s endorsement at the time with the popular soft drink. After a slight delay, we finally got a chance to grab the latest Nike SB collaboration – the Ishod Wair x Magnus Walker x Nike SB High. This collab between Nike rider, Ishod Wair, and fashion designer, Magnus Walker, has been one of the most anticipated sneakers of the year. This shoe takes direct inspiration from a German sports car that appeared in Walker’s film Urban Outlaw. A cracked white leather upper is built to fade away over time to expose a gold under layer with additional details including Union Jack flags on the heels, and red racing-inspired numbers placed on each heel.
Other notable releases this week were the Women’s Nike Dunk High “Crimson Tint”, the New Balance x Salehe Bembury 2002R, which are a potential sneaker of the year. This amazing 2002R is a special colorway, inspired by the great outdoors. Nicknamed “Water”, these come in a teal suede upper, peach mesh, and brown leather panels on the tongue. Also this week, the Nerf x Reebok collection and the Jordan 1 Low “Neutral Grey” hit retailers.
This is a week that can turn around your summer rotation. Don’t let an “L” discourage you, as there is always more coming and restocks have been popping up more and more. Continue the good hunt and as always, rise, grind and buy sneakers.
