Weekly Roundup 8.24

How has the hunt been for everyone in August so far? This week is jam-packed with crazy releases. With both bubbles in full swing and the NBA playoffs kicking off this week, we get a wide range of performance hoop sneakers from New Balance, Puma, Nike, Jordan, and Reebok.

Allen Iverson took the league by storm in the mid-90s, by introducing a whole new game to the NBA. With a killer crossover and a never quit attitude, The Answer went at the best of the best and showed them that he was a bucket. The “Red Toe” Question hit retailers on Friday, August 21st, for the 25th anniversary of the debut of A.I. first signature sneaker. With a white leather upper, red suede toe, and the icy blue outsole, these are a must for your closet. Now all you will need is a headband, and the finger sweatbands, to pull together the full A.I. look.

Jordan Brand is bringing in two classic models in different colorways this week. The Air Jordan Retro 3 “Laser Orange” hit Friday and is definitely a head-turner. Keeping the classic Retro 3 look, this sneaker adds a little pop with the “Laser Orange” accents. On Saturday, Jordan Brand gives us another classic model in a new colorway. The Jordan Retro 12 “Indigo” is a variation of the OG “Obsidian” Air Jordan XII. This pair replaces the tumbled leather of the “Obsidian”, with a smooth leather upper, white midsole, and Carolina blue accents.

New Balance and Kawhi Leonard teamed up for the release of his first signature shoe, simply named “The Kawhi”. The first colorway to hit retailers sports a nice black and blue upper with gold detailer named the “Four Bounces”. Named after the crazy shot in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals, the ball took a crazy four bounces, before finally dropping and advancing the Raptors to the NBA finals and later World Champs. We expect to see the “Fun Guy” rocking these for the remainder of the playoffs, so we will keep a close eye to see if he achieves the same goals.

The latest Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 is nicknamed the “Israfil” – a nod to the Islamic archangel. Featuring a greyish blue prime knit upper, orange stripe across the side panel, and a translucent outsole. Yeezy and Kanye West have been keeping us on our heels with multiple releases, where Kanye has been giving us a lot of sneak peeks online lately. Definitely wondering what will be featured in the next season of the Yeezy brand.

Puma and J. Cole have been making a smash in the both bubbles, with the J. Cole x Puma RS “Dreamer”. These have been all the craze in the sneaker world and won the best new sneaker in the NBA bubble last week. Now we get three new colorways all dropping this week – “Blood Sweat and Tears”, “Concrete Jungle” and the “Purple Heart”. Which pair did you cop? Personally love these. Comfy, great look on the feet, and super clean.

A heavy week with a lot of great releases. Keep your trigger finger hot, and as always, Good Hunting!
