Weekly Roundup 9.6
Happy Labor Day Weekend! With the grills lit, beaches packed, and pools sparkling; this is the perfect time to pull out some fresh sneakers and chill. September has always been a crazy release month and we are just getting started!
Jordan Brand has been giving us Retro 1 after Retro 1 and we are here for it. This weekend, we got the “Bio Hack” Jordan High Retro 1. This multicolor sneaker is said to be inspired by the streets of Tokyo. Color schemes combined brown, navy, teal, orange, and hot pink across the upper, and it is finished off with a metallic silver swoosh. The Air Jordan Retro 7 “Chile Red” hit retailers Saturday as well. These pay homage to Michael Jordan’s 1992 gold medal. This pair features many Chinese inspired details, including a colorful pattern covering the mid side panels. With a special embroidery on the tongue and a different logo on each heel, these are definitely a retro to add to the collection.
Adidas is gearing up for the NCAA season by giving us the Adidas Ultra boost “NCAA” collection. The Miami Hurricanes, Washington Huskies, Texas A&M Aggies, Arizona State Sun Devils, Kansas Jayhawks, Indiana Hoosiers, Nebraska Corn Huskies, and Louisville Cardinals are all represented. These are both comfy and flashy, therefore, perfect for the season. Adidas also teamed up with Concepts to pay homage to the famous Boston Marathon, with the Concepts x Adidas ZX 9000 “Boston Marathon”. This pair comes with a all silver “foil” upper and red white and blue Three Stripes accenting each side panel. The “foil” look is inspired by the recovery blankets used in the marathon and worn by runners.
Nike gave us a few models, specifically for the ladies, this weekend. The Nike Dunk Low Disrupt is a new look of the Nike Dunk and will, hopefully, maintain the momentum that the Nike Dunk model has received recently. The women’s model introduces a mesh upper, exposed foam tongue, and newly shaped outsole. We also got the Nike Air Force 1 “Black Tie Dye” – another crazy women’s model. This Air Force 1 covers the iconic low top model, in a unique multicolored tie-dye patterns over the entire sneaker.
Yeezy took a huge loss this past week, as former Yeezy GM Jon Wexler exited the organization. But, it looks as if the Yeezy Brand will continue to roll out per usual, and not miss a beat. Yeezy slides have been the wave since first dropping and are just as sought after, as the sneakers. The “Soot” and “Core” colorways are keeping with the earth tones of the other slides. All are perfect for the pool parties and events going down for the last few weeks of warm actvities, and will work well for the fall fun and aesthetic.
Enjoy the weekend and be safe. Remember to always keep grinding and keep buying sneakers.
