Late Week Roundup 11.6

grpahic: Kandace Miggins

Hello November! Time for new goals, new achievements, and new sneakers. The weather has been crazy, so copping the perfect sneaker is essential to making it through these last few months of 2020. This weekend, we got a chance to grab a lot of themed kicks, a few throwbacks, and some new heat that couldn’t be passed on.

Halloween brought out some of the best of this month with crazy releases from just about every brand. Nike released the Halloween Pack, featuring an Orange Air Force 1 with a skeleton covered upper and a glow in the dark sole, vampire-themed Air Trainer 3, and a black and purple Air Max 97 with glowing ooze on each side. Also included in the pack, is a silver Air Foamposite Pro with a black swoosh and “Halloween” on the back tab. Ghostbusters x Reebok also dropped this week and this two-pair package is perfect for the Halloween season – a classic leather dressed in a tan textile upper to represent the jumpsuits worn by the fellows and this sneaker is completed with the iconic logo on the tongue. The second pair represents the Alien Stomper, but is changed up a bit with details like a removable Proton pack with colorful wiring, extending from the heel to the pre-worn accents.

Beyoncé and Adidas gave the ladies a chance to pick up her second Ivy Park Capsule. Along with multiple pieces of sportswear apparel, the collection includes an Ultraboost, Nite Jogger, Super Sleek 72, and a Forum. All dressed in this capsules colored theme: volt, forest green, and white. Adidas also brought out another clean Yeezy Boost 380 “Calcite Glow”. I know you are going to ask, yes they glow. Perfect tor the longer nights, starting now. The Mandalorian premiered its’ second season this week and The Child has been a hit since the show first hit the airwaves. Star Wars and Adidas got together and released multiple sneakers representing The Child, better known to most as Baby Yoda, The Mando himself, and the Darksaber.

Jordan Brand and Virgil Abloh have been making hit after hit for a good while now and the Off White x Jordan 5 “Sail” adds to the list. After originally being spotted on Virgil himself during All-Star weekend in Chicago, we have been waiting and anticipating this release. After being pushed back a few times, these finally dropped this weekend and didn’t sit long. SNKRS sold out in seconds and left us all wanting more. The “Sail” pair is based of the OG “Fire Red” 5’s with a sail upper, black midsole, reflective tongue, and red detailing. Jordan Brand also gave us a new colorway in the Air Jordan 1 “Mocha”. The pair uses the OG “Black Toe” colorblocking and looks a lot the popular Travis Scott x Jordan 1 with its’ use of the brown suede on the heel panel.

Slam Jam x Nike Dunk High was next up in the Nike Dunk wave that has taken the sneaker community by storm. The “Clear Black” colorway sports a white leather upper with black overlays. There are a few details unique to this colorway: including two-toned laces, gummy Swooshes, and upside-down “Nike Air” branding on each tongue. The “Best Of” Kybrid S2 fuses elements from some of the best colorways of the Kyrie 4, 5, and 6. This mismatched pair includes pieces form the “Taco” PE Kryie 5, “Spongebob” Kyrie 5, “Lobster” Kyrie 4 and a few more.

This week was full of releases, so I know a lot of decisions had to be made. New Balance x Jolly Rancher collection, Aries x New Balance, Denim Tears x Converse Chuck 70 were also amongst the notable drops this week. We are in the last stretch of the year and the releases are getting bigger and bigger. Good Hunting and as always, rise, grind and buy sneakers!
