Monthly Outlook: May

The summer is slowly approaching and May has been a month to get your closet ready for the hot days and hanging out all night. Graduations are in full swing and it’s time for summer vacations, so this is the perfect time to revamp your closet and grab the perfect shorts, tee, and sneaker combo.

The Nike Dunks aren’t going anywhere. This month, Nike has released multiple Dunk Lows and Highs. Prime Pink, Court Purple, Next Nature, and Patchwork, just to name a few, have all dropped and sold out instantly confirming that the Nike Dunk is here to stay. The Nike Dunk Low “Toasty” hit SNKRS on May 10 and this pair was a must-have. This sneaker highlights a sequoia colorway with orange, medium olive, and a gum rubber outsole. Nike’s “Move to Zero” Campaign will feature recycled fabrics on some sneakers, including this one, with a fleece lining for comfort and warmth. A pinwheel logo on the tongue and two labels on the lateral side finish up the details of this Dunk Low.

Jordan Brand kept with the classics this month, dropping the Air Jordan 3 WMNS “Neopolitan”, the Air Jordan 6 “Midnight Navy” and the Clot x Air Jordan 5 Low. The Air Jordan 3 “Neopolitan” was said to be one of the most sought after releases this year. Even bringing back the OG Classic “Green Bean” 5’s on the 28th. This Air Jordan 3 came in a Neopolitan colorway, and yes, we mean like the ice cream. With an all-white upper, hints of brown on the eyelets, and the iconic cement print coming in a “Dark Mocha”, this shoe is perfect for the summertime. Finishing the Neopolitan look, pink is placed on the midsole above the air unit, and an off-white, cream color is placed on the rest of the midsole.

Reebok and New Balance weren’t going to be left behind, providing us with the summer heat. Joe Freshgoods continues to kill with his collaboration with New Balance with the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 9060 “Inside Voices Penny Cookie Pink”. Hitting IG by Quickstrike, these sold out almost instantly, but some were able to grab a pair of this amazing sneaker. Reebok and the Question have been releasing banger and banger and this month, the Reebok Question Low “Blueprint” will hit Champs retailers and Reebok.com for a ticket of $130. This colorway represents the journey of AI’s career and how he set the “blueprint” for an unorthodox path to make it to be a Hall of Fame player. The sneaker has a tonal blue upper and uses suede throughout.

With a shock drop of the Off White x Air Force 1 “University Gold” and the rumored restocked for the 50th anniversary with Nike, the heat is not stopping. Other notable releases this month are the Hello Kitty x Nike Presto, the JJJJound x New Balance 900v3 “Brown/Black”, and the Sza x Crocs collaboration. A lot of nice sneakers to add to the closet and more releases continue to be added to the calendar. So stay tuned, keep your ear to the streets, and continue to rise, grind and buy sneakers!
