Weekly Roundup 2.14

Happy Valentine’s Day all! It was a major release week, with a lot of headlines and heat. From release scandals to OG sneaks bringing out major crowds, this week was one to remember.

The Trophy Room is a sneaker boutique ran and operated by the son of Micheal Jordan – Marcus Jordan. Trophy Room has had major collabs over the years, the Trophy Room x Jordan 5, Jordan 17, and now the Trophy Room x Jordan Air Jordan 1. This numbered pair of Jordan 1s is one of the must-have sneakers of 2021 and a sneaker of the year candidate, but to get a pair, that was the true task. Email raffle crashed and pairs were rumored to be sold early. Some were lucky to grab pairs and others had to hurry to StockX to try their luck, but prices started at $3,000 and steadily going up. The theme of this sneaker is based on the rumored freezing out of MJ by his teammates at the 1985 NBA All-Star Game. The Trophy Room 1 wasn’t the only Retro Jordan 1 to hit the scene this week. The Air Jordan 1 ‘85 “Neutral Grey” also hit retailers and SNRKS this week and had us scrambling to cop a pair. The Jordan 1 ‘85 collection is legendary. Major sneakerheads, like PJ Tucker and Lil Yachty have been on the hunt to collect the whole OG collection and this week, we got a chance to snatch up one of the retro versions.

Clot and Jordan Brand released another clean collab this week, the Clot x Air Jordan 14 Low “Terracotta”. This Air Jordan 14 Low has a amor-like themed upper covered in earth toned suedes, a clay colored midsole, and medallion hanging from a red thread on the heel. We also got some OG heat this week with the return of the Jordan Retro 6 “Carmine”. These return with the OG “Nike Air” branding on the heel. This release was almost pushed back for a second time because of a production mishap turning some mid soles pink, but this shoe came out with no further delays and didn’t sit long at all.

New Balance and Todd Synder continue their ongoing partnership with another collab on the New Balance 992. This 992 comes in a hunter inspired colorway. Covered in light brown, duck camouflage, and subtle infrared hits, this shoe is perfect for the final months of winter and putting together the perfect fit.

Nike couldn’t let Jordan Brand get all the praise this weekend. Stussy and Nike continues to drop heat with the Stussy x Nike Air Huarache and the Nike “Valentine’s Day” Pack hit retailers with a clean Air Force One ‘07 and an Air Max 90. Nike is also keeping up with the OG theme of the weekend and bringing back the Nike Air Griffey Max 1. This OG sneaker comes in a black and white upper with teal details matching Griffey Jr. uniform in Seattle.

2021 has started with a bang. A lot of OG heat to cop again or to cop for the first time. Some this week you may not be able to grab, but it’s nothing like the hunt. As always, rise, grind, buy sneakers and keep hunting!
