Weekly Roundup 3.13

Happy Selection Day and welcome to the start of March Madness! Firstly, I want to give a quick shoutout to all the HBCUs that have made the NCAA tournament on both the Men’s and Women’s sides. It will be an uphill battle, but it is called March Madness for a reason.

The brackets are made and now it is time to get ready to enjoy this crazy time of year. Adidas is debuting the BIG MOOD collection. This collection is being elevated with NCAA athletes highlighting graphic and colorful designed performance wear. Yeezy and Adidas have continued to put out sneaker after sneaker and this week is no different.

The Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Core White” restocked Saturday morning and many of us had a chance to add this 2016 release to our closets. This 350 includes a Black Primeknit upper, cream white stripe bearing “SPLY-350”, and branding across the lateral side panel. Yeezy and the Confirmed app also released two new colorways in the Yeezy Foam Runner, “Stone Sage” and “Mist”. These have been hard to come by, and most have to cop on the resell market for almost triple, or more of their retail price of $80. The sneaker world can be 50/50 on these, some love and others would rather not, but the resell market says these are a must-have.

Air Max Month and Air Max Day are some of my favorite times of the year. The sneaker world celebrates one of the original staples of Nike Brand by pulling out rare Air Max 1s, 95s, and other Air Max sneaks. All month, different Air Max pairs will be released and we got a wider release on the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 “Mellow”. With acid-washed denim upper, olive green canvas mudguard, paisley heel panel, and a velour tongue, these are a must-have for AM1 enthusiasts.

Women are getting a new colorway in the Jordan 6 with the release of the Women’s Jordan Retro 6 “Mint Foam”. The “Mint Foam” colorway comes in a grey nubuck and white upper, with mint green accents on the tongue and midsole. After much anticipation, the Air Jordan 12 “Playoff” finally hit retailers and Jordan heads could not wait. Retroing for the first time since 2012, the “Playoff” 12 was originally worn by Michael Jordan throughout the 1997 playoffs on the way to grabbing his 6th NBA championship. This retro comes in true OG form: a black tumbled upper, white mudguard, and subtle red accents.

Other notable releases this week are the Sacai x Nike VaporWaffle “Gum Pack”, the Nike Zoom Freak 3 “UNO Face It”, and the Bad Bunny x Adidas Response CL. Spring is right around the corner, so it is time to switch it up a bit. Time to substitute that Essentials sweatsuit for some Nike or Adidas shorts and a fire band tee. If you are looking for some slides, fresh tees, and new swimwear for Memorial Day and the upcoming warmer days, Adidas.com is having an amazing Splash Sale which includes Buy 2 Get 20% off, and Buy 3+ and get 30% off select swimwear, slides, and tees. Use the code Splash at check out and there is even up to 50% off sale items going on until the 24th! So this is a chance to regroup and restock on a few things, so you can be ready for the shorter nights and longer days. As always, continue the good hunt and remember to rise, grind and buy sneakers.
