Weekly Roundup 6.20

Happy Father’s Day weekend to all the dads, coaches, mentors, and male figures that have had an impact on our lives. This has been a wild week, with Twitter beef, amazing games in the WNBA, and crazy playoff basketball in the NBA. The releases this week were not in quantity but the quality was something to take notice of.

With rumors of an Off-White Retro 2 Low coming later this year, sneakerheads are rejoicing that a Jordan 2 is finally getting a release. On top of that, the Jordan 12 “Playoff” is also coming soon to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Jordan 12. The news this week from Jordan Brand has had all of us on our toes, and with everything else going on, Union Los Angeles and Jordan hit us with another collab. The Union Los Angeles x Jordan IV “Tent” and “Trail” hit Union.com this week and despite some late email and text notifications, some were lucky enough to pick up a pair of the highly anticipated collaboration. Another collab hitting this week was the Undefeated x Nike “Dunk vs AF1”. This collab features an olive and black colorway inspired by the “Ballistic” Dunk High released in 2003 and the Dunk Low has been deemed to mirror the “Canteen” Air Force 1 from the “Inside Out” pack.

With the NBA playoffs in full swing and the LA Clippers playing the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, Paul George has helped pushed the Clippers past a 50 year Western Conference Final drought. This week, the PlayStation Nike PG 5 hit SNKRS and select retailers continuing the collaboration between Paul George and Sony PlayStation. This sneaker comes in a white upper with black and royal blue accents, similar to the previous models. PG’s logo is placed on the left tongue and the insole with the PlayStation logo and the right shoe. Nike and the Dunk Low hasn’t slowed and we got a chance to grab another blast from the past, the “Dusty Olive” colorway from 2001. A prior Japanese exclusive, this all-suede pair features a clean brown upper, green overlays, and yellow swoosh and detailing. A third colorway in the Ambush x Nike Dunk High remix hit SNKRS earlier this week and just like with the other pairs, it did not sit long. The “Deep Royal” colorway features the OG Dunk color-blocking with a white upper, royal overlays, and black accents. The extended swooshes and the plastic panel wrapping is the heel are the added “remix” features that have become a staple of this amazing collab.

Other notable releases this week were the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Mono Ice” and the Bodega x New Balance 990v3. Again, not a large number of releases this week, but the quantity is there. There is a lot of chatter coming down the pipeline, so stay tuned for updates and any breaking news. Continue the good hunt and as always, rise, grind, and buy sneakers.
