Weekly Roundup 8.15
We are at the mid-part of August, and even though we aren’t getting the quantity, the quality is undeniable. The release calendar has been a little on the light side, with most, focusing all their energy and email accounts on copping a pair of the latest Travis Scott collab. With over 3 million bot accounts found, some are keeping hope alive for an invoice and a chance to add this grail to their closet.
The Nike Dunk is still at the top of most people’s list and this week, another colorway in the Nike Dunk Low hit retailers. The Nike Dunk Low “Sail Multi-Camo” dropped and the name says it all, coming in multiple camo variations that cover the overlay panels of the sail upper. Pine green accents are added on the Swoosh, sock liner, and outsole. Some feel the Jordan 1 makes the other models not as important and as sought after. When Jordan 1 models drop, it sells out no matter what, but when other models drop, some don’t get as much love. This week, the Women’s Air Jordan 1 High “Seafoam” released in exclusively women’s sizing. The shoe wears familiar two-toned color blocking with green and white upper and throwing a little twist in the mix with multicolored shoelaces. These retailed for $170 but are currently online for an average price of around $250. Not too bad for someone that missed this cool summer release.
Last week, the Travis Scott x Fragment x Jordan High hit and had the sneaker world in a frenzy. Sneakerheads did every raffle they could in hopes of copping a pair and we all repeated the process this week with the Travis Scott x Fragment x Jordan 1 Low, which finally released after multiple rumors. We got an on-feet look at this crazy sneaker during the Olympic Games by USA Women’s basketball head coach, Dawn Stanley, as she sported the sneaker during the Olympic preliminary games. Just like with the high-top model, these come with the reverse Swoosh and blue color scheme with the co-branding on the heel.
Other notable releases this week were the Jordan 1 High “Pollen” and the New Balance 2002R “Protection Pack” and exclusive access went out during the week for the Nike Dunk Low x Off-White. Again, not a week of quantity, but the quality was definitely there. Keep your ear to the streets because with the holiday season approaching, the quantity will rise. As always, continue the good hunt and remember to rise, grind and buy sneakers.
