Weekly Roundup 9.26

The WNBA playoffs are in full swing! This weekend, we witnessed some amazing basketball and we also got a chance to see Candace Parker’s newest sneaker, the Candace Parker Exhibit A, on the court. The MVP, ROTY, and WNBA champion debuted her new shoe this past weekend, after announcing the release earlier in the week. We saw another WNBA legend lace up this past weekend for, maybe, her final season. Sure Bird played a hard-fought game against the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday and after a devastating loss, Sue was asked if this was it for her. With a smile, Sue let it be known that she will reevaluate and not rush in making a decision. Fitting for the legacy and all that Sue has accomplished, Nike released the Sue Bird x Nike Kyrie 4 low “Dynasty”. Coming with a multi-colored blue upper with a white and green outsole. The colorful sneaker features a yellow Swoosh, pink laces, and a rainbow liner. The “Keep Sue Fresh” message is stamped on the right tongue and as we all know, Sue never disappoints with the fits.

With NBA media day happening this week, we have seen new models from multiple players. Kyrie, Steph Curry, Dame, Klay, and many others have debuted their latest models and hit us with some insane colorways and concepts. Kevin Durant ended the season last year in the KD 14 and from that it looks like, he is keeping with the 14 going into the new NBA season. The newest colorway of the KD 14, Ron English x KD 14, is a collab with the contemporary artist, Ron English. The loud pair features a multicolored upper with a blue heel panel and lime green sole. English is known for his work across American pop culture and he has created his versions of well-known like Ronald McDonald and Tony the Tiger.

Jordan Brand has continued to bring back the classics, week after week, and this week, we got the “Oreo” Jordan 5. Originally released in 2013, the “Oreo” 5 comes in a black and white upper and has a look that is true to the name. The pair has a clean black nubuck upper, 3M tongue, white liner, and white midsole. A perfect sneaker for the upcoming winter months. The Jordan 1 “Prototype” was also released this past weekend. The upper of this Jordan 1 is mostly leather with tan nubuck overlays. Black and grey leather wrap the heel and a pop of color comes from the collar.

Other notable releases this week was the Nike Dunk Low “Grey Fog”, the National Geographic x Reebok collection, the Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Mauve”, and the Sean Wotherspoon x Adidas Superturf Adventure. A busy weekend in sports and we have the WNBA semifinals starting this week! Who do you have winning the finals? Let us know and continue to rise, grind and buy sneakers.
