Let’s take it back a bit. It’s May 20, 2018. It was nearly a minute into the Aces’ first game of the season and Tamera “TY” Young made history. She tallied the first franchise points for the newly established Las Vegas Aces – formerly the San Antonio Stars.

With a new and energetic ownership team, new head coach, and many fresh faces on the roster, Young was the lone player with double-digit years of professional experience, and she’s back for more.

With the 2019 season here, Ty is still going strong as that veteran force on a fun energetic squad.

From draft night to now, it’s been amazing to watch the former mid-major collegiate star carve out such a long career in the WNBA. Her teammates love her, and fans adore her.

Me…Well – it’s definitely all of the same. Outside of her on-court skills, it’s what she does off the court that gets my attention. To many, she’s a style influencer. Boasting a said style that is sporty, fashionable and comfortable, she’s pulled off every look with ease. I’ve even found myself pulling a few pieces and ideas to recreate some of her looks.

Anyone that follows Young on social media is aware of her impressive sneaker collection. She estimates that she owns around 500 pairs of sneakers. Ranging from retro Jordan’s to Vans, she probably has every shoe you can think of.

Even without a sneaker deal, her collection consists of some of the best on-court kicks in the game – at ANY level.

In 2018 TY launched her own brand, Ty1 Gear, in which she incorporated her personal flair and taste into her designs and everything is handpicked.

With the Aces revealing a red jersey for the upcoming season, I’m more than excited to see what she unveils and unleashes. I’m sure that it will be a treat.

Year 12 is poised to be a good one for Tamera Young and the Aces.

Whatever it is, one thing we should know is at the end of the day, she’s forever — Tamera Young.
