Champs Sports’ Win Better. Gift Better. campaign paired “rival” athletes for a week-long, social media gifting competition which highlights various products from the retailer. The retailer, debuted its social-led holiday campaign, “Win Better. Gift Better.” starring a roster of athletes including Katie Lou Samuelson, Deandre Ayton, Kahleah Copper, Kyle Lowry, Gavin Sheets, and more.
The holiday campaign, encouraged consumers to tap into their competitive side and channel it through gift-giving this holiday season and paired some of our favorite athletes for a fun-spirited gifting competition which took place across social media. The campaign content ran on Instagram Stories throughout the week with Katie Lou Samuelson and Deandre Ayton kicking off the competition by unboxing their best gifts from Champs Sports.
We caught up with KLS to discuss her role in the campaign, the products she’s gifting this holiday season, her favorite sneakers of 2022, and more.
B. Terrell ( Made for the W) : Win Better. Gift Better is such a cool concept, talk about why it was important for you to be apart of this along with other athletes.
KLS: “I think it’s really cool to be a part of this campaign. Number one, it’s such a cool concept. Giving gifts and having fun with that. You know the holiday times and giving gifts and having fun with that. Being able to be a part of this campaign with PUMA Hoops, and be a part of a cool campaign is always awesome. Deandre and I have done different things before and I think this was a fun concept to do.”
B. Terrell ( Made for the W) : We need to know the game plan: Paint this scenario for me: You’re visiting a Champs Sports location – where are you going first? Shoes? Accessories? Clothing?
KLS: For me, I’m going straight to the shoes – to the PUMA shoes of course. I’ve always loved to base my outfits on the type of shoes I’m wearing. Maybe it’ll be some RSXs or the new Melos are going to be awesome, and I’m excited to see all the color ways they come with.
B. Terrell ( Made for the W) : In your mind, what makes the best gift?
KLS: “Something thoughtful. Something That you know another person would appreciate or use. I’m big on gifts that people can use everyday whether that be a new pair of shoes or something that they can really remember.”
B. Terrell ( Made for the W) : How do you ensure that you win the gifting battle?
KLS: “I think winning the gifting battle is knowing who you’re going up against and who you’re gifting against – knowing what they like, but making sure it’s something they wouldn’t expect.”
