GAME RECAP: Washington Ends Las Vegas’ Season with 94-90 Win in Game 4 of WNBA Semifinals

Las Vegas had eyes on sending the WNBA Semifinals back to Washington D.C. for a decisive Game Five Tuesday evening, but the Mystics overcame a 10-point deficit to win, 94-90, advancing to the WNBA Finals where they will face the Connecticut Sun.

KEY RUNS

First Quarter (Aces 26, Mystics 17)

Tied at 12 with 3:57 remaining in the quarter, the Aces scored 10 of the next 12 points to go up 22-14.

Second Quarter (Mystics  54, Aces 43)

Las Vegas led by 10, 39-29, with 4:50 to go in the half, but the Mystics scored the next 8 points, and 16 of the next 20 to take a 45-43 lead into the locker room. They also scored the first three points after the break.

Third Quarter (Aces 68, Mystics 67)

The Mystics led by as many as 7, including at 65-58 with 2:41 to go in the quarter, but Las Vegas scored 8 straight and 10 of the last 12 to lead by one, 68-67.

Fourth Quarter (Mystics 94, Aces 90)

The Aces scored the first point of the quarter to go up two, 69-67, but the Mystics scored the next five points to take the lead.

Las Vegas tied the game with 8:35 to go, but Washington scored the next six points and nine of the next 11 to take their largest lead of the day, 81-74.

The Aces sliced the Mystics’ advantage to one on two occasions, but couldn’t regain the lead.

KEY STATS

The Aces committed 11 turnovers which the Mystics turned into 14 points, while Washington committed 6 turnovers which Las Vegas turned into 6 points.

Washington made 13 of 30 shots from three-point range,while Las Vegas went 7 for 17.

The Aces out-rebounded the Mystics 39-29.

GAME NOTES

Liz Cambage recorded her fifth d0uble-double in six postseason games with 25 points and 12 rebounds.

Tamera Young scored in double figures for the second time this postseason (11 points).

Dearica Hamby scored in double figures for the third time in five postseason games (18 points), and recorded her first career postseason double-double adding 11 rebounds. She missed a triple-double by three assists finishing with 7.

Kelsey Plum scored in double figures for the fourth time in five games this postseason (17 points)
