As Sylvia Fowles and Sue Bird head into their final WNBA games, Nike is paying tribute to their legacy both on and off the court by celebrating their groundbreaking careers with a dedicated collection including player exclusive footwear, apparel and tribute videos that will coincide with each of their last respective WNBA game. Additionally, to celebrate and recognize their impact on the game, all WNBA Nike athletes on 8.14 will wear a version of Sue and Sylvia’s footwear.

According to Head Coach and General Manager of the Minnesota Lynx, Cheryl Reeve, “Sylvia Fowles’s legacy is that she is the best center in the history of the WNBA.” Built on a PG6 silhouette, Sylvia Fowles’s PE is a nod to her epic career as a 2X WNBA Champ, 2X WNBA Finals MVP, 4X Defensive Player of the Year, 2X Euroleague Champ during her career playing for both Chicago Sky and the Minnesota Lynx. In bold lettering, her nickname “Big Syl” is emblazoned on the shoe with other key details from her groundbreaking career.
Sue Bird PE
The way Sue takes over games when her teams need it most, in the clutch, when victory hangs in the balance makes her one of the greatest point guards of all time. Sue Bird’s PE is a tribute to her accolades, including graphic embroidery featuring the UConn Husky and other career highlights. Off the court, Sue is a social advocate and sneakerhead. She has become known for her “tunnel walk” style and dress, while also being a “league fits” MVP, always keeping things fresh. Sue has always and will always stay fresh, inspiring future generations to come.
