As part of WNBA FIT Month presented by Kaiser Permanente, the WNBA will host (5) grocery pop-ups in partnership with Goodr. As the Official Health Care Partner of the WNBA, Kaiser Permanente serves as the health care expert and strategic consultant for the WNBA on health and wellness initiatives. Goodr is a sustainable food waste management and distribution company whose mission is to feed more, waste less. At each pop-up, WNBA players from the market they take place in will be on-site to assist in food distribution.
The WNBA FIT Month Grocery Pop-Up Series will help address food insecurity by providing families in need with healthy food options. Families will be able to register in advance to attend the pop-ups, where they will have the opportunity to receive fresh produce, meats and seafood, shelf-stable items, milk and non-dairy alternatives, beverages, eggs and bread through a drive-thru model. Grocery packages include ingredients to make 7-10 days’ worth of meals free of charge, with each pop-up serving more than 500 families and 25,000 meals.
