Cold weather is upon us. Time to pull out your favorite hoodies, high top sneakers, and show off your fall fashions. This week brought back a few classics, and also gave us some dope colorways on some iconic silhouettes. This was a big week for the ladies getting a number of crazy exclusives and some head-turning kicks.
The latest women’s exclusive from Jordan Brand is inspired by Jordan’s amazing performance in the 1986 playoff game against the Boston Celtics. Jordan dropped 63 points in the Air Jordan 1 and things were never the same. The “Lucky Green” Air Jordan 1 displays a “Celtic” green with a white upper and red wing logo. But the real surprise is on the insoles, made to resemble the hardwood floors of the TD Garden. The women’s exclusives don’t stop there this week. The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Sisterhood” comes to us with a smooth leather upper in White, Game Royal, and Black with a new interwoven on each side panel and heel. The second colorway came in with a blue leather upper and black accents. This sneaker’s features expose metallic rivets and White mesh Swoosh logos. All three are a must for the closet.
Nike blessed us with a few classics this weekend and, as expected, none sat long. The Nike Air Raid “Black” is a favorite, especially on the outdoors hoop circuit. A little delay pushed them back a week but definitely worth the wait. These black and grey sneakers are known for their tough look and completed with its’ signature criss-crossing mesh straps. The Kobe 5 had an heavy representation in the NBA finals. AD, Tyler Hero, Bam, and others debuted crazy colorways and AD blessed the court with the Kobe 5 Protro “Five Rings”. Just a few days after the Los Angeles Lakers won their 17th championship title, we had a chance to grab the shoe Kobe won his 5th ring in. With a purple upper and covered in an all-over “5” print, these bring back so many nostalgic memories of the Black Mamba and his title runs. Another classic, originally released in Japan in 2001, the “Wheat Mocha” Air Force 1 is one of those sneakers perfect for the fall. This pair features a wheat suede upper, yellowed semi- translucent midsole, and insane brown detailing.
Another sneaker that hit the court during the bubble was the Jordan 3, and that one definitely got our attention. This week, the Jordan 35 “Center of Gravity” hit retailers and made another huge impact in the ever growing Jordan signature line. Seen worn by Kia Nurse, Satou Sabally, and others, these are the perfect new age hoop classics in the making. Jordan Brand also gave us another chance to pick up the Union LA x Jordan Retro 4 “Off-Noir”. The pairs most notable features are the folded over-sewn down tongue and translucent straps lacking their usual center cut-out.
Supreme and Nike have always done highly sought after collaborations and this Nike Air Max Plus is no different. Three different colorways are set to be released, with one dropping this past week. White, Lime Green, and Black are displayed on each upper with a surprise. The standout feature of this collab is the Air Max Plus signature TPU cage has been twerked to read “Supreme”. Foamposites are perfect for the fall. Cool weather, unexpected rains, and unpredictable weather, these sneakers are perfect, and this week, we had a chance to grab the Nike Foamposite “Black Anthracite”. Foams are already indestructible and in all black, it’s nothing the weather can throw at these to ruin your day. Also this week, Converse and Tyler the Creator’s Golf le Fleur Gianno comes to us in two new tonal colorways on Thursday. Each feature a forest green or lavender suede upper, and both pairs feature a cream- colored sole.
Time to pack the mesh runners and low tops and pull out the high tops and sweaters. This week was a perfect way to start your transition and start redoing your sneaker rotation. As always, Good Hunting!
