Weekly Roundup 2.20

Welcome to another week of our weekly roundup! With the All-Star festivities and the NBA All-Star game taking place this weekend, brands took advantage and hit us with a few shock drops and some crazy hoop heat. Nike opened up the Nike Reserve and gave fans a chance to grab a few of the Lebron hoop shoes that were released recently, and also did a shock drop on the Lebron 19 “Chosen 1”. The scratch-off style confused a few, but most have experienced this before and hurried to be the first to grab the newest installment of the legendary Lebron line.

Worn by Myles Garrett in the Ruffles Celebrity Game, Reebok is celebrating the 25th Silver Anniversary with a special release of the Reebok Question. The Reebok Question Mid “Silver Toe” hit Reebok.com on Thursday and continues to bring new life to the iconic Iverson line. This pair comes in a white upper and metallic silver hits throughout the sneaker. A special “25” logo has been added to the right heel and the usual “3” logo is stamped on the left heel in metallic silver, to complete the anniversary look.

LaMelo Ball made the All-Star roster this past weekend in his second year in the NBA, solidifying that he is one of the up-and-coming stars in the league. His sneaker signature shoe with Puma, Puma MB.01, had been an instant hit, and adding a collaboration with the hit cartoon, Rick and Morty, only made this release better. The Rick and Morty x Puma MB.01 was released on Friday and these are a must for fans of the show and hoop fanatics. This mismatched pair comes in a pink pair and neon green pair, and if you watch the show, you know where the green comes from. Details include portals on each tongue, the show’s titles on each insole, Rick’s face on the left inner tongue, and Morty’s stamped on the right inner tongue.

Nike always does All-Star in a major way and this year, Nike and Lebron brought back the Lebron 9 “Big Bang”. For the first time since All-Star weekend in Orlando, the “Big Bang” Lebron 9 caused pandemonium all around the US. The bright orange upper, glow-in-the-dark soles and galaxy print liner were met to be a nod to the Kennedy Space Center, that is stationed in Orlando. Jordan Brand brought the “Cardinal” colorway, which first appeared on the Air Jordan 7 in 1992, to the Jordan Retro 3. This clean color scheme comes in a white tumbled leather upper, red accents on the liner and midsole, and a yellow Jumpman on the tongue. Of course, the elephant print paneling is always featured on the iconic Jordan 3.

Other notable releases this week were the Air Jordan 1 “Dark Marina Blue”, Nike Dunk Low “Siempre Familia”, Adidas Yeezy 500 “Blush”, and the legendary Serena Williams collab with Nike, the Nike Air Force 1 LXX x Serena Williams! The calendar is heating up, week after week, and some gems are coming up. Continue to keep your ear to the streets, because drops have been happening at random times. Continue the good hunt and as always, rise, grind and buy sneakers.
