Starting, we want to say congratulations again to the Women’s USA basketball team for their 7th consecutive gold medal! The Women’s USA basketball team has been so dominant over the years and a must-watch even before the WNBA was formed. Dawn Staley has been a part of each of these medals and has always done it with her style and swagger. As head coach, Dawn blessed the hardwood with exclusives like the Travis Scott x Fragment x Jordan 1 Low and the Dior x Jordan 1 Low, showing us how you step in style to a gold medal. Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird won their 5th gold medal on Sunday, completing a task that we may not witness again!
A light week on the release calendar but Yeezy Day had many on their toes. Following a similar release back in 2019, Yeezy Day gave us a chance to catch some of the popular Yeezy models and colorways for retail. The biggest one, that had us waiting by the phone, was the Zebra 350 V2 and the Wave Runner 700. Both, going for almost double their retail prices, are highly sought after Yeezy releases and some had a chance to cop. Also on Yeezy Day, we got a look at another colorway in the popular Yeezy Foam Runner. The “MX Cream Clay” Foam Runner comes in a slick cream and brown colorway. This colorway reminds some of a cup of coffee, once you pour a little cream into the cup. These retail for $80 but resell on these can be as much as $350, so many of us were hoping for a little luck and good Wi-Fi on Monday morning.
Undefeated dropped another pair of Nike sneakers last week and these did not disappoint at all. The pack features another Air Force 1 and Nike Dunk Low, continuing the ongoing pack drops we have seen recently. This pack is called the “5 On It” for the five materials featured on each shoe. The features include snakeskin, leather, suede, nubuck, and canvas and the number five is also a representation of the five-strike branding that is placed on each heel and tongue of each shoe. The Air Force 1 features a grey upper with blue and red accents and the Nike Dunk Low comes in a bold blue and purple upper with white branding.
Not a crazy week on the release calendar but we will just put that on the world tuning into the Olympics and supporting their respective countries. Stay tuned for later releases and as always, continue to rise, grind and buy sneakers.
