True to Nike’s innovative style, the AJXXXV was unveiled today in Nike’s first-ever global livestream. Host, Ari Chambers, did the honors of giving viewers the FIRST LOOK at the AJXXV. She was also joined by Craig Williams, President of Jordan Brand at Nike and Tate Kuerbis, Senior Footwear Designer at Nike.
The AJXXXV is definitely a basketball player’s dream sneaker. Of course, basketball in Nike’s DNA. With the AJXXXV, the challenge was to keep some nostalgic elements, but also incorporate new and innovative features. You will notice the AJXXXV gives off Jordan 5 vibes on the tongue. However, what’s new is the Eclipse Plate 2.0. This gives players more stability, balance, and bounce. What I really appreciate about the first colorway dropping, is the Center of Gravity is the 23 on the back heel. Expect this colorway to release on 09/27/2020 in China, and globally October 17, 2020.
It was a great surprise to see Kia Nurse, WBNA player for the New York Liberty, giving her take on the AJXXXV. Also, for my ladies with smaller feet, henceforth, this sneaker will include sizes that start from 3.5 and Nike will not compromise any of the technology that is currently included in the larger sizes. For those of us that know the small size struggle, that’s some excitingly positive news!
I am really hoping I can get my hands on a pair of the AJXXXV, when they drop. I love the innovative way Nike is pushing the buttons – from the live release, online interaction, and Q & A Live after the event.
When asked if Michael Jordan is involved in the design process, the answer was YES! From start to finish. And the designers don’t stop tweaking the sneaker until he smiles. The AJXXXV is definitely a MUST-have for me.
